Dua Lipa is an English musician and singer who was who was born in London United Kingdom on August 22nd, 1995. In 2014, following a career as a model and actress she was signed to Warner Bros Records. She released her debut self-titled album in 2017. The album reached the third position on the U.K. Chart for Albums. Eight singles were released, among them Be The Only I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules (UK number one). The album also climbed at the number 6 spot in the United States. Lipa has won Brit Awards in 2018 in the categories of British Female Artist, British Breakthrough Act, and British. Dua Lipa was born 22nd August 1995, in London with Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. She is of Bosnian origin via the maternal grandparents of her. She can trace her ancestry back to Peja, a city in Kosovo. Lipa's grandfathers are both historians. Gjin along with Rina are her siblings. The musical influence of Lipa's came from her father who is the guitarist and singer of Kosovan the rock group Oda. Her musical influences were derived from her father's music that included his compositions as well as songs by artists like David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa started singing around the age of five. When she was nine, she started learning to sing. Lipa has covered If I Ain't Got You and Beautiful from Christina Aguilera and posted it on YouTube. Her record deal with Warner Bros. Records was made in the year 2014. New Love was her debut single. New Love was released in August of 2015.
