Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American as well as a Canadian musician and singer. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco describes her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. However, it includes influences like punk, hip-hop, and jazz. Ani DiFranco is widely recognized as a feminist icon, and Grammy-winning artist is considered the founder of DIY music. It was one of the very first musicians to start her own label in the year 90. DiFranco was born on the 23rd of September 1970, in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Dante Americo DiFranco. Her father is of Italian heritage and her mother was a Montreal native. Ani's song, 32 Flavors was written by her, and performed by Ani. The song can be found on the album Not a Pretty Girl by Ani DiFranco, that was released in 1996. The track was included in the soundtrack to the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco apologized to host a seminar in Louisiana at an old slave plantation. The workshop was cancelled, yet she refused to express regret. DiFranco released an apology just a few weeks later. While she's been referred to as the Little Folksinger her music spans many kinds of genres and collaborates between Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. She lives in New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is married to Kristen Ford. When she was 14, she started to compose her own music. They were performed in bars and coffeehouses during her teens. DiFranco completed her studies at The Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts high school in the year 16, and enrolled in classes at Buffalo State College. Her new baritone is custom-built by Alvarez built by Chrys Johnston, who at the time was working as an Alvarez artist rep. It is the System 600 guitar with solid woods, including cedar for the top with mahogany back and sides, and ebony on the fretboard. She is a resident of New Orleans, with her family members: spouse and two children. Lefty is their dog companion who comes and goes as she talks. DiFranco currently thirty years into her career acknowledges that reflecting on the past has resulted in mixed feelings. Ani DiFranco, writer and musician from the punk/folk genre, was 25 years old when she debuted her seventh album Not A Pretty Girl and enjoyed even greater popularity in the music industry through Dilate. The 1972 pop-rock song Brandy (You're a gorgeous girl) was written by American band Looking Glass for their debut album Looking Glass. Elliot Lurie wrote the song.
